| A valid passport is required to travel to foreign
countries for ALL travelers including children. Some countries may even require
a visa. To find out what the entry requirements are, please contact the local
consulate/Embassy of the country you will be travelling to or call Sunwing
Reservations: When children are crossing international borders, whether
travelling alone or accompanied by an adult, each child traveling abroad must
have a valid passport plus supporting documentation: i.e. birth certificate
showing the names of both parents and/or legal documents pertaining to custody.
As well the adults traveling with the minor children are strongly advised to
hold a letter of travel consent signed by the parent(s) or guardian(s) with
legal custody. The letter must include the signor's address and phone details.
It is recommended that this letter be notarized. If a parent/guardian is
divorced or deceased, custody document or death certificate is required.

Disinsection
Sunwing Airlines is required by several countries to spray insecticide in the aircraft cabin prior to arrival to those countries. This is a preventative measure against the importation of foreign insects that may carry disease or damage crops.
Sunwing Airlines uses d-phenothrin Insecticide aerosol spray, an insecticide approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for application onboard commercial aircraft. According to the WHO, short-term exposure when spraying this insecticide has not been found to cause any adverse health effects.

Flights to the United States
If you are travelling to the United States and hold a Passport from a country other than Canada or the USA, there are important changes to the entry requirements. Advanced authorization to travel to the USA through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is now available to eligible residents of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries. Effective January 12, 2009, authorization through ESTA will be mandatory for all travel by air to the United States for passengers carrying Passports from Visa Waiver Program countries. ESTA applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel to the United States, and VWP travelers are encouraged to apply for authorization as soon as they begin to plan a trip to the United States. Advanced Passenger Information System (API/APIS)
In an effort to enhance border security, many countries have implemented an Advanced Passenger Information System (API/APIS) to collect passenger data. Under Canadian law, all commercial carriers, including Sunwing Airlines, are required to collect this passenger data during the check-in process and electronically submit this data to the following countries requiring it: Canada, US, Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and Barbados.
The following information is collected as part of the APIS process for all flights:
- Full name (last name, first name, middle name if applicable)
- Date of Birth
- Nationality
- Country of residence
- Travel document information (i.e. Passport)
- Gender
In addition to the information above, passengers travelling to the US are required to provide the destination address where they will be staying during their trip. For cruise connections, passengers are required to provide the name of the cruise ship, and point of embarkation in the US.

Secure Flight
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is currently implementing Secure Flight, a program developed to provide for uniform watch list matching by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). By establishing one consistent watch list matching system, Secure Flight will enhance aviation security and help make travel easier for passengers.
How will Secure Flight affect passengers?
Under the Secure Flight program, passengers will be required to provide:
- Full name (as it appears on passenger's identification document)
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Redress Number (if available)
Sunwing Airlines will send the information you provide to TSA who will match it against terrorist watch lists. Please note that boarding passes may not always display the exact information you provided when booking your travel. This will not affect you when traveling. The name you provide when booking your travel is used to perform watch list matching before a boarding pass is ever issued.
What are the benefits of Secure Flight?
Secure Flight makes travel safer by more effectively identifying individuals that may pose a known or suspected threat to aviation. It also enables officials to address security threats sooner. Furthermore, by creating one watch list matching system, it helps prevent the misidentification of passengers who have names similar to individuals on terrorist watch lists. Lastly, Secure Flight offers an improved redress process, so that those who are mistakenly matched to the watch lists can avoid problems in the future.
Protecting passenger privacy
The privacy of individuals' information is a cornerstone of Secure Flight. TSA collects the minimum amount of personal information necessary to conduct effective watch list matching. Furthermore, personal data is handled in accordance with stringent guidelines and all applicable privacy laws and regulations.
Redress - for passengers who feel they have been misidentified
Those who believe they have been mistakenly matched to a name on the watch list are invited to apply for redress through the Department of Homeland Security Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (DHS TRIP). Secure Flight uses the results of the redress process in its watch list matching process, thus preventing future misidentifications for passengers who may have a name that's similar to an individual on the watch list. Privacy notice (found in Section 1560.103 of the Secure Flight Final Rule): The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires you to provide your full name, date of birth, and gender for the purpose of watch list screening, under the authority of 49 U.S.C. section 114, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 and 49 C.F.R parts 1540 and 1560. You may also provide your Redress Number, if available. Failure to provide your full name, date of birth, and gender may result in denial of transport or denial of authority to enter the boarding area. TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice.
